Christmas celebration in Uganda

In Ghana, Uganda & Nigeria, as in many African countries, caroling from door to door is a common occurrence on Christmas Day. This is a tradition that many Americans have abandoned in recent years. Why not revive the tradition? Choose a few neighbors’ houses near you and go as a family caroling from door to door. Practice two or three songs that you will reprise as you stop at each house. Although children expect to receive trinkets and candy in Africa, you can bring your own candy canes. Giving candy out to your neighbors who open their doors makes for great memories!
